World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what can be improved upon a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.
You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of its unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. item upgrader is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
